Nicely said, Coach Dave. Around the net, the game rarely affords perfect pucks, players must solve problems in real time. Using feet to regain control keeps them connected to the play and able to finish. Allowing more time between reps gives players and goalies time to recover and work through rebounds instead of rushing the next rep. This preserves perception-action coupling and allows athletes to explore solutions the game truly affords.

Great task, Coach Szilágyi Levente. “Lose Man” is a powerful constraint that creates overload, urgency, and real transition pressure without coach intervention. Players must constantly reorganise across roles while managing risk. A progression is adding a penalty box outside the zone, where defenders can earn a player back with an outlet pass. This creates a short numerical advantage, increasing pressure on the puck, improving support, and reinforcing transition awareness and collective response

Love this task, Coach Troy. Integrating

Love this task, Coach Troy. Integrating IZC and DZC in the same environment allows players to experience real transitions instead of isolated rehearsals. Using the coach as support creates a dynamic advantage that forces players to attune and reorganise across the four roles, offense with the puck, offense supporting, defense on the puck, and defense away. This is representative learning, games that truly reflect the game and develop perception, timing, and decision-making.
