By having a familiar, across program warm up, any player from all levels can get the same warm up and skill practice as the next.
A consistent warm-up routine can help players get into the right mindset for the practice or game, boost confidence, and reduce pre-game anxiety. It also provides a familiar routine that can help with muscle memory and focus.
This can be tailored to use only one path down the center if you have low numbers at practice.
SET UP:
Split the skaters (by skill) on opposite sides of the ice, in opposite corners. Take Pucks
Drop tires staggered by end of the Defensive zone, 2 within the neutral zone, and the last, no further than the blue line in the offensive zone.
RUN IT:
Skaters start out and increase speed as the weave in and out between the tires, maintain good puck control and keep eyes up and moving.
After the last tire, break towards the goal, and shoot - varying shots from front hand or back hand.
