I've noticed several posts on TCS about goal setting.
Like the authors and advocates of these posts, I believe goal setting to be a fundamental in mental training that is essential and necessary for coaches to build into their plans.
Recently, I have come across a more advanced exercise in goal setting, the "Harada Goal Setting Method".
This method has been widely described in the story sourounding, Shoehi Ohtani, Major League Baseball superstar. Ohtani used this method to break down his "big goal" of making it and starring in the MLB into tangible, measurable steps and actions when he was a sophomore in High School.
The process involves a 64-slot grid employed to organize the main goal, sub-level goals, tasks, check-ups, and analysis.
Has anyone used this method with their teams and hockey players?
If yes, please share your experience and results from using this tool (the grid) and the method.
