 A rubric is an evaluation tool, a set of criteria used to promote the consistent application of learning expectations, learning objectives, or learning standards. Intended to measure attainment against a consistent set of criteria the repeating use of a rubric allows for a better understanding of learning rather than a comparison against a standard population.
