Raised in Canada. 

I learned a few things as a CJFL quarterback, while working in places like a women’s prison and a subatomic physics laboratory, and while coaching high school football, that prepared me to start a design firm immediately after graduating from college in the late 20th century. Subsequently co-founded internationally recognized Chicago / Vancouver-based SamataMason in 1995. Co-founded Chicago / Vancouver / Atlanta-based Multiple Inc. in 2013.

My work has been honored for excellence in virtually every significant design publication and competition and has been exhibited at The Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe in Hamburg, Germany. I've served as a juror for numerous international design competitions, and as a guest speaker at design and business schools, conferences, and events throughout Canada, the United States, and Asia. Honored to be named a Fellow by the Society of Graphic Designers of Canada.

I've co-founded a number of ventures including OpinionLab Inc., the leader in web and mobile voice of customer feedback systems (acquired by Verint / Nasdaq VRNT), Cusp Conference, an annual Chicago-based conference about ‘the design of everything,’ and PowerPlayer Inc., a company dedicated to helping youth sports coaches better reach and teach young athletes through feedback and continuous communication. 

I'm also the author of a multi-award winning historical fiction novel, EO-N. A bestseller in historical fiction in the United States, Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom, EO-N has also been acquired for film and television.
