Warm Up - Wake Up the Legs

This Warm Up will challenge the skater to open their stride, their hips and their lungs to move from one end of the other.

 

SET IT UP:

All skaters start on one end of the ice near the goal line.

1 Cone center of the first blue line

3 cones on the center ice line, one at center ice, and one on each far end, just outside the face off dots

2 piles of pucks, just inside the far blue line directly along the line with the previous cones.

2 Goals, 2 goalies are optional.

 

RUN IT:

On the whistle, the first skaters sprint to the blue line.

At the blue line, the skaters side step to center of the blue line (cone)

Skaters then sprint to the center ice cone, and then transition to backwards skating to their next cones.

Sprint to the blue line.

Stop, pick up a puck skate in and take a shot.
