This drill can be used as a full ice warm-up drill that can help players warm up their hands and body in the beginning of practice, or coaches can build off of this setup and do variation for 2-on-0, or 2-on-1, etc.  You can even work on different zone entry concepts.

SET IT UP:

Line up players on the 2 opposite neutral zone dots with pucks, with other groups on the goal line (see diagram)

RUN IT:

On the whistle, the 2 neutral zone lines send a skater in with a few strides and then pass to the player across from them.

The player that passed the puck now opens up along the boards to receive the pass back, then skates over the blue line, cuts to the middle of the ice to take a shot.

NOTES:

Keep sticks on the ice to let teammates know where they want the puck.

Players should cut to the middle of the ice after entering the offensive zone.
