Setup:
- Split players into two teams, ideally based on jersey colour.
- Each team has 4 players on the ice per rep.
- Draw an imaginary center line to divide the two sides. Players cannot cross this line.
Description:
To start, one side begins on defence, the other on offence. Defence’s objective: move the puck to their forwards on the opposite side while simultaneously trying to win the puck from the offensive player on their side.
Offence’s objective: protect the puck and try to score or retain possession while their teammates cycle through.
After each rep, players switch roles (defence → offence → back into line).
Coaching Points:
Encourage quick transitions and communication between players. Focus on puck protection, stick positioning, and reading the play. Stress maintaining defensive structure without crossing the centre line
