Husky Swing 3v2 is a simple 3v2 down the ice that initiates with a forward swing. on whistle, the 3 F's drive low and swing, communicating who's grabbing the puck. the D gap up and play 3v2 down the ice. Let players play out the 3v2 until a goal is scored, goalie cover, or puck cleared out of zone.

One progression to this is to apply backchecking pressure. start with 1 guy on goal line. he can't backcheck until the forwards grab the puck. now its a 3v3. you can progress this to where two D jump in on the backcheck too to join the offensive team so you could potentially end this progression with a 5v5 in the zone

main purpose of this drill is to work on your zone entries. this simulates a real game because it's a 3v2 down the ice with backcheckers applying pressure from the tail end, as well as the offensive defensemen joining the rush too, you're simulating a 5v5 game.
