A fair amount of time in game or practice, we skate with the puck towards the net, skates pointing straight ahead. Getting a shot off in this kind of situation is fairly easy.
But what if we receive the puck while our feet are not facing the goal? This could happen as a defender along the blue line, a Flanker on the PP, or when receiving a pass when skating up the boards, coming out of the corner. What should we do then?
The concept of getting around the puck while shooting really allows you to load up your shot while rotating your feet in the proper direction. In this video I explain how it's done!
