This drill is a variation of the 2 vs 2 Line Up Drill.   There are still the same players involved, however the format has changed.

SET UP:

F1 stands stands in front of D1who has a puck on their stick.

F2 and D2 set up at the end of the slot, closest to the goal parallel to each other.

RUN IT:

D1 sends a puck through the F1’s legs (or along side) to hit the bumper in front of them. Once the puck hits the bumper, both players move.

F1 can choose to go right or left to enter the attack.  F2 works on getting open to be able to receive a pass, or to obstruct the goalie and defense.

The Offense is working on deception, quickness, and ability to attack the net fast. The defense works on getting a good angle to steal puck away to end the activity. Defense should be focusing on using body contact, stick handling, and control, using their skating to angle the opponent to the outside and gain possession of the puck.

Play will end with a goal, save/cover or defender skates it out of the area.
