This game works on various skills including skating, puck handling, puck protection and team work, in a framework that mimics many aspects of an actual hockey game.

I find it especially useful for younger players, some of whom can seem a bit overwhelmed by even a small-sided hockey game. Assigning them a role as a cop or robber, and making the game a bit smaller and easier-to-digest than a hockey game, really ramps up their competitiveness and fun.
