I develop players who solve the game.

Most coaching still treats skill as something you drill in isolation, repeating a movement until it sticks. I work the other way. Players learn by reading real situations and finding their own solutions, so I build practice that keeps the game's problems intact: the puck, the opponent, the decision, the consequence. The drill does the teaching and I get out of the way. That is the ecological dynamics and non-linear pedagogy, and it sits under everything I do on and off the ice.

The background behind it: three seasons coaching hockey in Finland, five seasons running video in the KHL before that, over a thousand games analyzed. Tactics, skills, scouting, individual development.

I also work with players one to one through video, wherever they are. We watch their real games together, find the handful of things that actually change how they play, and stay with it through the season.

Years inside the industry-standard analysis tools are why I built Pelaa, a native Mac app that takes a coach from thought to finished clip.
