In partnership with BioSteel, our latest contest involves putting pen to paper - well, fingers to keyboards technically - to discuss this past season. Here's your chance to share your journey, lessons, and standout moments from the past season. Whether it was a year full of growth, challenges, big wins, or quiet victories, your story matters - and it can inspire others. It’s not about having the perfect record; it’s about the impact you made, the lessons you learned, and the team you helped shape. Let your voice be heard and your season be remembered!
Why write about your season? It's important for many reasons—both practical and personal. Here’s a breakdown:
- Reflection and Growth: Writing forces you to pause and reflect—what worked, what didn’t, and why. You start to see patterns, lessons, and key moments that can get lost in the day-to-day grind. That reflection leads to growth, both as a coach and a leader.
- Accountability: Putting the season into words—successes and failures—creates a sense of accountability. It helps you own your decisions and learn from them instead of brushing them aside.
- Planning for the Future: A well-written season recap becomes a blueprint for the next one. You can build on strengths, fix weaknesses, and carry forward what made your team better.
- Team Culture and Communication: Sharing parts of your reflection with your players, parents, or assistant coaches can strengthen trust and team culture. It shows thoughtfulness, intention, and care.
- Record Keeping: It’s a historical log. Years down the road, you’ll want to look back and remember that one game, that moment of growth, or that roster of special players. Great for building legacy and continuity.
- Inspiration and Motivation: A season summary—especially if told honestly—can inspire others. Younger coaches, players, and even your future self can pull motivation from your words.
The contest is simple. We’re inviting coaches to submit a story on The Coaches Site about their season for a chance to be featured and win both a prize pack from BioSteel and some awesome TCS swag.
The contest runs from Apr 7 to May 30 and the winner will be announced on June 3.
