Skater starts from the middle. Alternate driving out and around to either side.
Player should drive back and around the outside of the obstacles, working to get their vision turned and focused on the passer right away, presenting a good and strong target. Skater receives a pass through any of the open lanes, so they must be ready at all times to receive the puck.
After clearing the last obstacle, skater cuts and drives to the middle in front of the boarder pad. Cuts should be sharp, and player is working to pull the puck away from imaginary defender. A coach can be placed behind the boarder pad and use a stick to apply pressure to the puck carrier.
Skater is focused on moving with speed, cutting hard to middle, pulling the puck to a protective position on either forehand or backhand side, and releasing quick shots to the net.
