"Everybody was kung-fu fighting....." wait, sorry, wrong discipline.   Now that you have the Carl Douglas hit - "Kung Fu Fighting" going on in your head, you can replace it with Everybody has Body Contact!

3 Stations each with a different level and style of body contact to get the players used to being pushed around while maintaining their positioning and stance.

SET IT UP:

1). First player faces the wall, and attempts to move side to side.  Defense is behind them, leaning in, holding them to the wall.  This can be done in stages:  First with no sticks, Second, sticks only, and third - with the offensive player moving a puck with his stick.  The distance you want them to work on will dictate how much body contact that they can withstand and handle.

2) Offensive player receives a puck up the wall, protecting it as they skate along the wall back to the blue line, then back to their starting point.  The defensive player keeps pressure on the skater - interferes but do NOT take the puck, allow the skater to continue their movement.

3). Goalie obstruction - the defensive player sets up in a blocking motion while the offensive player tries moves to where they would be open to either shoot or send a pass.  If the goalie cannot see the 3 cones when they are squared up, they need to either push the offensive player out of the way, or call for the defensive player to move.  Once this scenario has been run, substitue the cones for players, then work up to the players having a puck to attempt to shoot.

Run the stations 45-60 seconds each, then rotate to the next pairing.  Once each group has completed their turns, move on to the next station.
