This is an interesting idea as it can change from shift to shift.
If you are a player driving to the net, you have options.
1 - You can stay on your path on the inside shoulder of the D man and work to get to the net. Slip passes, rebounds off shots, two touch shooting, pass reception to backside pass, and more options open up.
2 - Something that is happening more is the forward is skating right at the D man almost causing interference for them and allowing the Forward with the puck to skate behind them where they have more time and space.
3 - As shown in the video, you can attack the OUTSIDE shoulder. This is especially effective if you can open up on your one timer side. This means that the D will have to decide what they give up. If they stay with you, the player with the puck shoots. If they release you and move to the puck carrier, a simple slip pass is a possible offensive chance with the goalie moving.
Which ever option your net driver decides to use, they are vitally important to success of the offensive zone attack.
