This tip drill is utilizing shots from the defensman positions.
Play begins with a simple quick run from the corner. Skater moves with as much speed as they can, passer is looking to make a crisp pass to forehand of the skater so that shooter can work the puck into a shooting position as quickly as possible. We encourage players to try to work to catch the puck and get on-the-tape/off-the-tape shots on net right away.
After shooting, the skater stays at the net and works to tip and screen in the shooting lanes for two separate shots.
2nd puck is thrown up the near wall to a waiting "defenseman". Player receives puck and works the puck to a middle ice position off the wall and shoots with as much power as they can.
3rd puck is rimmed around the zone to another waiting "defenseman" who receives the puck and pulls the puck to a middle ice shooting position.
Players at the blueline need to be ready to receive tough passes off the walls, have quick footwork to get away from the walls, and work hard shots to the net.
