Purpose:  The Survivor Scrimmage is designed to encourage (a) valuing puck possession, and (b) keeping your composure under big-game pressure.

It also provides added challenges of recognizing & responding to advantages/disadvantages and of making players adapt roles when their teammates are eliminated.

Rules:
- start shift 5v5
- if a player turns the puck over, they are eliminated from the shift
- a shot on goal does not count as a turnover, but getting checked, a pass intercepted or dumping the puck away all do
- going offside or committing a penalty also gets you eliminated
- if a goalie covers the puck, the offensive team must clear the blue line
- play each shift until a goal is scored, or all players are eliminated from one team (counts as a goal)
- play to 5 goals, losers skate

Optional Rules:
- if you have 3 lines of 5, then play 3 teams, kings court style, winner of the shift stays on
- count points for each player still alive when a goal is scored
- recover a lost player if you take the puck behind the opposing goal
- an eliminated player can rejoin if they tell the coach a better option they could've chosen
