Fresh off a gold medal victory, Troy Ward welcomes Team Canada U18 head coach Dave Barr to episode 11 of Troy Ward’s Mailbag. Led by young stars Shane Wright and Connor Bedard, Canada went 7-0 in the tournament, outscoring opponents 52-12 in the process. But while they may have dominated on the ice, preparing for a short term tournament during a pandemic caused many challenges that Barr and Team Canada had to overcome.

“We went 10 days without the players being on ice and nine of those days, they were locked in their hotel room. No workout, other than virtual workouts that we put on for them,” said Barr. “Just looking at our schedule, that was a huge part of what and how we coached.”
