Rapid Fire is a great drill to encourage a quick release to a players shot. Have players work on their reception to increase the speed at which they can release the puck.
Description
Coach draws 2 spots near the top of the circles for the shooters to shoot from.
Pucks are on the wall with the line of player(s) in line with the top of the circles. An additional player is in the corner on the goal line.
Players in line pass to the corner player and the player in the corner passes out to the shooter. The shooter receives the puck and takes a shot.
This pattern is repeated 5 times in quick succession then the shooter is switched. The passer becomes the shooter and the shooter returns to line. The next player in line becomes the passer.
