Power Play Game enables the team with the puck to have a player open at all times. Have players spread out and utilize the player advantage.

Description

Coach sets up the net and marks an area for players benches and draws a line in the middle of the playing area.

Players line up in the marked out players benches.

When setting up the game identify one player on each team. That player cannot cross the center line into their defensive zone.

The play is 3vs3 but since one player can’t play in their defensive end the offensive team has a 3vs2 in the offensive zone.

Once a player gains possession they need to pass to the coach before their team can score.

On the double whistle everyone returns to the benches

Key Points

Focus on encouraging players to find the open person on their team.

If scoring is too easy coaches can set up a scoring line that players need to cross before scoring a goal or include a player to play as a goaltender.
