This drill works on recovering lose pucks, getting hips around the puck and making quick plays off the the recovery.
Points of focus:
- Ensure a quick pivot from forwards to backwards on retrieval (shoulder checking recommended)
- Bring the puck behind the body to ensure quick, but powerful passes
- Top hand out in front of the body
The progression to this drill is to add deception. Load weight on to the inside edge, cut to one side before trasfering weight to the opposite leg and jumping into space.
