Corkscrew Shuttle Warm Up
Drill Description:
Players will use the blueline as a guide, performing each skill to the boards and back.
Progression 1: Be a threat.
- Players have the puck in a shooting position the whole time (beside inside foot).
Progression 2: Upper and lower separation.
- Toes face forward, upper body faces forehand side, then backhand side.
Progression 3: Control inside edge.
- Slow and controlled (quiet) inside edge cuts with a puck.
Progression 4: Fast inside edge.
- Fast and loud inside edge cuts with a puck.
Progression 5: Inside edge circle.
- Players perform a whole circle on outside leg inside edge.
Progression 6: Leg whip warm up.
- The inside leg will come off the ice and whip behind the body, while also crossing the midline.
