The Psychology of Leadership
In 2010 I became an entrepreneur due to the greatest failure of my entire life – and for that, now looking back, I'm grateful. I'll be the first to admit, it was scary. I had no idea what I was doing, and I gave myself a No-Plan-B option. In my first year, my revenue was $18,000 – ouch.
Since 2002 my life's work has been addressing and answering one simple and complex question: Are You Worth Following? After all, not everyone is... and it's really hard to play for coaches who are hard to play for. So, I spend most of my time teaching The Psychology of Leadership and help people understand what it means and what it takes to be a leader worth following.
In January 2019 I didn't know anyone in professional sports. Then, out of the blue in early 2019, an opportunity presented itself to lead an offsite retreat for the Philadelphia Eagles. What was originally one one-day retreat grew into many multiple visitations that created the foundation for long-lasting relationships. I believe good work breeds more work, and that played out in Philadelphia: Relationship Before Opportunity
Then, a team executive convinced the National Football League to hire me to keynote their annual summit, and that became the springboard to us today. After I delivered my keynote I was overwhelmed by the number of team executives who were interested in our work, thoughts, and insights to grow their leadership and culture.
This started with us working with the business executives from most teams and grew into General Managers, Head Coaches, and their staffs – I'm beyond humbled.
I felt a level of pride and responsibility when I heard an NFL head coach tell me that he "learned more during in our initial coaching conversation with him than any other coaching session I’ve ever had." Talk about blessed.
To us, it's all human; leadership is a human business. Our lessons apply to any human, within every industry, and through any sport (regardless of age). We work hard to teach principles that are applicable everywhere from the boardroom, to the field, to your kitchen table; the material is extremely practical and simple to understand and implement.
It's my intention to arm you with tangible, tactical practices you can put to use immediately – which for any coach is very powerful.
