Coached youth hockey in Grand Rapids, Michigan, from 1984-1998.  Joined USA Hockey Coaching Education Program as volunteer instructor in 1996.  Named Michigan Coach-in-Chief by USA Hockey in 2000.  Received USA Hockey President's Award in 2023, for mentoring new leaders and aiding in coaching leadership transitions.  Received USA Hockey Walter Yaciuk Award in 2024, for contributions to Coach Education over 28 years of service.  

Currently member of USA Hockey Playing Rules Committee, serving as Associate Coach-in-Chief for Rocky Mountain District, and as Coach Developer for national Coaching Education Program.
