Steve Spott just finished his first year as Assistant Coach with the Boston Bruins. He has spent the previous 12 seasons in the NHL in assistant coach positions with the Dallas Stars, Vegas Golden Knights, San Jose Sharks and Toronto Maple Leafs.

Spott started his coaching career with 16 seasons in junior hockey in the OHL and has also served as an Assistant Coach for Team Canada at the World Junior Championships, won the 2003 and 2008 OHL Championship and the 2003 Memorial Cup Championship with the Kitchener Rangers.

A native to Toronto, Canada, Spott began his coaching career with Seneca College of the CCAA where he quickly moved through the junior hockey ranks. Spott spent a few years with the Markham Waxers and Plymouth Whalers before solidifying a role with the OHL’s Kitchener Rangers as an Assistant General Manager/Assistant Coach. Throughout a 12 year run with the Rangers, Spott was promoted to GM and Head Coach and also spent time at the International level, winning a World Junior Championship Gold Medal in 2010 as an Assistant Coach with Team Canada.

Steve’s success in Major Junior hockey propelled his professional career, which began in 2013 as the Head Coach of the Toronto Marlies. Spott immediately made an impact, as he and his staff lead the team to the Western Conference Finals in his first season.
