Gardiner MacDougall is in his 24th season (2023-24) at the helm of UNB’s men's hockey team, one of Canada's most successful university hockey programs.
The REDS have won eight of their nine Canadian championships under MacDougall's guidance. (2023, 2019, 2017, 2016, 2013, 2011, 2009, 2007). He is the all-time Atlantic Conference leader in total wins, including regular season and playoff victories. He is top five in all-time U SPORTS victories and 1st all-time in Canadian university hockey history in national championship tournament wins (34), surpassing legends and former NHL coaches Tom Watt and Clare Drake.
