Bethany Brausen was named the head coach of Tommie Women's Hockey in January 2025 after serving three and a half seasons as an assistant coach. She spent 12 games of the 2024-25 season as interim head coach, leading St. Thomas to its first sweep of a top-5 opponent over the No. 4 Minnesota-Duluth Bulldogs on Jan. 23-24.
The University of St. Thomas women’s hockey program has grown in its first three seasons of the D-I era with Coach Brausen. The program rose from an eight-place WCHA finish in 2021-22 to a seventh-place WCHA finish in 2022-23.
Prior to joining St. Thomas, Brausen was an assistant coach at the Minnesota. She joined the coaching staff in 2016-17 after competing for the Gophers from 2010-14.
