Sean Goldsworthy has been the head hoach of Minnetonka High School since 2017. Previously, he spent 19 seasons as head men's hockey coach at St. Olaf College. He was named the MIAC's coach of the year in 2009 after leading the Oles to their first regular season MIAC championship since 1938-39.
Goldsworthy led St. Olaf to four straight MIAC Playoffs appearances from 2004-07 and to at least one postseason win in 2004, 2005 and 2006. In 2011-12 he brought the team to the MIAC finals. Goldsworthy, a 1994 graduate of St. Olaf, helped the Oles capture its first NCAA Tournament berth in school history with their 5-1 win over the University of St. Thomas in the MIAC Playoffs Championship in 2006.
As a player, Goldsworthy was an All-MIAC selection in both hockey and baseball. In hockey, Goldsworthy led the MIAC in scoring in 1993 and was a member of playoff teams in both '91 and '92. In baseball, he was a member of three NCAA regional teams in 1991-92, '92-93, and '93-94, respectively. In 1993-94 he was elected team MVP, and was awarded second team regional honors.
