Ryan Huska in his presentation on Penalty Killing Philosophy and Fundamentals, implementing a agressive PK requires quick shifts to maintain intensity and effectiveness. The Oilers showcased this approach brilliantly in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Finals, executing a strategy that held the Florida Panthers to only 1 shot on their 2 minute powerplay.

The quick shifts, averaging just 15 seconds between 6 PK units, kept the Oiler's players fresh and alert, allowing them to maintain high energy levels throughout the penalty kill. This constant pressure prevented the Panthers from finding any rhythm, making it difficult for them to set up scoring opportunities. The multiple penalty kill units introduced an element of unpredictability to the Panthers powerplay!
