MEET THE HOST
Todd Woodcroft is the new Head Coach of HK Dukla Trenčín in Slovakia. A frequent guest of The Coaches Site, he brings over 20 years of coaching and management experience from the NHL and international hockey.
Todd began his career with the Minnesota Wild in 2000 as a Video Coach, later moving into scouting and rising to Scouting Director for the Calgary Flames. He returned to his true passion — coaching — with the Winnipeg Jets in 2016. Along the way, he also worked for the Washington Capitals and LA Kings, and spent a year in the KHL as Assistant General Manager/Director of Player Personnel for Dynamo Minsk. He went on to serve as Head Coach of the University of Vermont Men's Hockey team, then Head Coach of the EC Kassel Huskies from 2024 to 2026.
Internationally, Todd has coached in seven World Championships and one World Cup, representing Canada, Belarus, Switzerland, and Sweden, and served as Assistant Coach for Team Slovakia at the 2026 Winter Olympics. He won a Stanley Cup with the Kings in 2012 and two Gold Medals — with Canada in 2004 and Sweden in 2017.
