The Off-Season Advantage: Where Programs Gain Separation
Hosted by Mark Bolding
May 13th @ 6pm EST
The off-season is where programs gain separation - but only if it’s approached with intention. In this webinar, three-time ECAC Hockey Coach of the Year Mark Bolding shares how his philosophy around off-season development has evolved, from managing workouts to building connection, accountability, and culture from a distance.
-
Structuring communication during the off-season
-
Supporting strength and conditioning across varying environments
-
How he integrates new players into the group.
Coaches will come away with practical ideas and a clear framework for bringing more structure, visibility, and strategy to their off-season.
MEET THE HOST

Mark Bolding, named Yale’s Susan Cavanagh Head Coach for Women’s Ice Hockey in 2019, has transformed the program into a national contender, highlighted by a Frozen Four appearance and AHCA National Coach of the Year honors in 2021-22—the first Yale women’s team to reach an NCAA semifinal. Across six seasons, he has led the Bulldogs to multiple ECAC regular season titles, three NCAA Tournament appearances, and numerous program records in wins, scoring, and defensive performance, including historic campaigns in 2021-22, 2022-23, and 2025-26. He earned his 100th career Yale victory in 2025 and has been a multi-time ECAC Coach of the Year. Prior to Yale, Bolding built a Division III powerhouse at Norwich University, compiling a 266-68-22 record, winning two national championships, and earning four AHCA National Coach of the Year awards while developing dozens of all-conference and All-American players.
