One of the most effective ways to shoot the puck in stride, in motion, in stride, is by practicing the method while standing still. It doesn't happen often in a game of course unless players are standing in the slot or taking one-timers on the powerplay, so it's valuable to work up to the ability to shoot in stride off the rush. The game is fast, so it's helpful to slow it down and get the mechanics in place before adding speed.
This practice plan borrows (steals) heavily from Tim Turk's course Mastering the Foundation of Shooting, in which Turk sends his players on simple progressions to shoot the puck before correcting their posture, hand placement, and release.
It's a simple plan that will really get your coaching juices flowing as long as you know what to look for.
