If you want your moves to work in games, you've got to get good at reading pressure and angles of attack to find the openings.
This is my current favourite 1v1 drill for reads and decision making in the slot — knowing when to dangle and when to use the D as a screen, change the angle, and shoot.
It's not about the dangle, it's about the read. Attack off the wall and the defender tells you where to go — find the weakness by reading his pressure. We call it Opposing Momentum.
And when the D backs off? We're not walking it into traffic. Take the shot from a good scoring area, slow down a little if you need to, use the screen, change the angle, get it on net.
Read it. Oppose it. Finish it.
