Chalk Talk is back!
We're happy to announce the return of the Chalk Talk Series, in which TCS Live attendees and presenters break down their favourite drills for you to add to your practice plan.
Watch Jordan Pietrus of TPH Academy share Wall Work Progressions, a great way to focus on offensive zone board play tactics.
Description:
- Part 1: two players rim pucks down and up the boards for a player in the middle to collect, get off wall, and make direct pass
- Part 2: add a fourth player, a bumper, use one puck, player in middle passes to middle bumper who passes to either anchor player
- Part 3: add pressure between player in middle and bumper, player who picks up puck is trying to relieve pressure and pass to bumper through pressure
- Part 4: add additional player, mini 2on2 out of corner, players are trying to pass to their teammate for a shot, new bumper players aren't competing for space, just available for a pass if their teammate wins puck
Key Teaching Points:
- Alternate how players pick puck up off wall.
- Player should pick up puck and be unpredictable.
- Use hips and lower body to defend puck, scan ice before receiving rim.
