Simple drill to teach gap control and D-side positioning with your youth skaters.

Two Cones- Two Players.

On whistle they go (no pucks and race to the net).

1st player skaters forwards. 2nd player skates backwards, transitioning at the cone. 2nd player attempts to beat the 1st player to the net and prevent him from touching the post.

Simple drill. Simple concept, but effective in teaching this important skill at the youngest levels.
